New York's minor parties are small, but sure can steal scenes early in a campaign season.

On Saturday, the Working Families Party will nominate candidates. Some members don't want to again back Democratic Gov. Andrew M. Cuomo. They are upset with some of his corporate tax breaks and spending cuts. But if the groundswell is enough to snub Cuomo come Saturday, watch for the governor to announce this week that he won't accept the nomination -- before it can be denied him.

Meanwhile, the Independence Party endorsed Cuomo Friday. State records show Cuomo signed an acceptance on Thursday -- when he told reporters he hadn't decided whether he would do so.
