Keira Corbin
Baldwin, G, Sr.
One of the best defenders on the Island who caused major disruption to the opposition. She's lightning-quick and averaged 12 points and five steals in leading Baldwin to its first Long Island Class AA championship. She scored 15 points in the Long Island Championship against Deer Park. Corbin went from a reserve as a junior to the linchpin in her final season and played the final two weeks of the season with an injury.
Micki Impellizeri
St. Anthony's, F, Sr.
The 6-3 Bucknell-bound Impellizeri averaged nine points, seven rebounds, four assists, three blocked shots and 2.5 steals. Impellizeri impacted games in many ways and especially on defense with her length, making it difficult for opponents to get to the basket. She had 13 points, seven rebounds and six assists in the NSCHSAA final win against St. John the Baptist and averaged 11.5 points in the postseason.
Symone Kelly
St. Anthony's, C, Jr.
The 6-2 Kelly averaged nine points, 10 rebounds, 1.5 steals, and one block. She had 15 points and 12 rebounds in the NSCHSAA championship against St. John the Baptist as the Friars won their first title since 1988. She was a major force under the basket and averaged 10.8 points in the postseason.
Kerrin Maurer
St. Anthony's, G, Sr.
The leading scorer for the Friars with 11 points per game, she also added five rebounds, 4.2 assists, and 2.1 steals per game. She missed half of her junior season with a fractured ankle and hip suffered in a car accident in January 2010. Often times when the Friars needed a big shot, Maurer was the one to produce. She averaged 10 points in the postseason and will play lacrosse at Duke.
Katie Poppe
Holy Trinity, G, Jr.
Poppe averaged 16.5 points, 10 rebounds and four steals to lead the Titans to the NSCHSAA semifinals. She surpassed 1,000 career points in the first round of the CHSAA state Class A tournament. She scored at least 20 points six times.
Alexis Smith
St. John the Baptist, G, Sr.
Smith averaged 12.2 points, 5.3 rebounds, 4.9 assists, and 3.8 steals. She was a part of two CHSAA state championship teams and won two NSCHSAA titles in her four-year career. She was a finalist for the Miss New York Basketball award and averaged 13.2 points in the postseason. She finished her career with 970 points, 453 rebounds, 349 assists, and 314 steals. Smith signed with Illinois.
Kamala Thompson
St. John the Baptist, F, Sr.
Thompson averaged 12.1 points, 7.1 rebounds, 2.9 steals and 2.4 assists for the Cougars, who almost pulled off the upset against Christ the King in the CHSAA state Class AA semifinals, falling by three points. She tended to play best in the big games. She scored 15 points in the NSCHSAA championship game against St. Anthony's and averaged 13.2 points in the postseason. Thompson scored 1,174 career points. She will attend Dartmouth.
Chelsea Williams
Copiague, G, Sr.
Williams averaged 20.5 points, 8.3 rebounds, 3.6 assists and 3.2 steals. She led No. 8 Copiague to the Suffolk AA semifinals and played one of her best games in a 53-47 upset of previously undefeated and No. 1 Northport in the quarters. She had 26 points, nine rebounds and four steals. Her driving layup along the baseline gave the Eagles a 48-47 lead with 2:22 left, and she hit four free throws to seal it. She had 19 points in the semis against Deer Park and averaged 22.3 points in the playoffs.
