Alyssa Ammazzalorso, a student at Our Lady of Mercy Academy, has been dancing since she was five years old, most recently studying at the Eglevsky Dance School and the Berest Dance Center. Through her school’s dance program she has discovered and developed her skills as a choreographer, creating ballet, pointe and modern pieces for the Mercy Dance Company. She was selected as Ballet Captain in her junior year.
Her teacher praises her abilities by saying, “She has grown into an accomplished choreographer, combining a unique sense of composition, spatial design and emotion in her pieces.”
As a National Merit Semi-Finalist, Alyssa’s academic achievement stands out. She has earned her status as a member of the “Principal’s List”, and is a member of both the National Honor and Italian National Honor Societies. In addition to pursuing her love of science, Alyssa intends to continue dancing in college.
