Farmingdale junior midfielder Amanda Tutturro verbally committed to Rutgers over the weekend.

“Rutgers is everything I wanted in a school,” Turturro said. “I loved the coaches. […] I’m very close to my family so it’s not too far away from me.”

Turturro said she was also considering UCONN, Hofstra and Iona before ultimately picking the Scarlet Knights.

Farmingdale coach Shari Campbell said Turturro’s best asset is her “speed. She has speed to burn. Breakaway speed, catch-up speed.”

Turturro, who transferred to Farmingdale last year from Hills East, will join current soccer and lacrosse teammate Kim Kolodny RU. Kolodny is a senior this year.
