Amityville Village trustees have voted to carry over the public works employee contract for another year with no salary increase.

The agreement, approved at Monday night’s Board of Trustees meeting, will cover 20 public works employees through May 2012, said Mayor Peter Imbert.

In a budget year Imbert has called “the worst” in memory, the village recently froze salaries for nonunion employees and deferred night differential pay owed to police officers for working overnight shifts, among other cost-reducing measures.
