Annual charity event to help the homeless in Farmingdale

The Long Island Coalition for the Homeless will hold its annual “Have a Heart for the Homeless” candlelight vigil in Farmingdale Wednesday.
The event features services for those who are homeless, including free haircuts, food and music, as well as face-painting, stories and balloon animals for children. The group will accept donations, including new baby items, clothing, nonperishable food and cleaning supplies.
The vigil will be held from 6 to 8 p.m. in Roosevelt Hall at Farmingdale State College, 2350 Broadhollow Rd.
