A Huntington Town councilwoman and three local chambers of commerce have scheduled their fifth annual job fair for June 9, a forum where prospective employers and employees can meet.

The fair, co-sponsored by Town Councilwoman Glenda A. Jackson and the Melville, Huntington and East Northport chambers, will be held from 5 to 7 p.m. at Harborfields High School in Greenlawn.

Local nonprofit Family Service League will also hold a resume-writing clinic at the site from 4 to 7 p.m.

Jackson said this year more businesses have signed up to participate — about 35, compared to 25 last year. About 250 job-seekers attended last year’s event.

“It's just a great opportunity for local people to match up with local businesses that are in need,” she said.

Jackson said her office staff is trying to document the number of people who get hired as a result of the fair.
