1 Easter Sunday Vintage Car Parade

It's a long-running tradition in Garden City that classic cars star in an Easter Sunday parade. More than 250 vehicles participate -- from old Ford Model-Ts and Lincolns to more contemporary hot rods. "We chug along waving at everyone," says Laura Greco, of Franklin Square, who owns two of the oldest cars in the parade -- a 1902 Curved Dash Oldsmobile and a 1910 Baker Electric. Spectators can see vehicles on display beginning at 10 a.m. in parking field 9E. Antique car owners interested in joining the parade procession can register for $15 ($12 advance registra- tion through Thursday).
2 National Park Week
Admission fees are waived all this week at Sagamore Hill in Cove Neck as part of National Park Week. The 83-acre site was the former home and "summer" White House of President Theodore Roosevelt. You can see original furnishings, trophies and family photos on guided tours on the hour, 10 a.m.-4 p.m. Wednesdays through Sundays.
