Asharoken village clerk Nancy Rittenhouse appointed as assessor

Asharoken Village’s board of trustees has appointed its clerk to also serve as its assessor.
The board voted, 4-1, to make Nancy Rittenhouse the assessor.
She will work in the position until the end of the fiscal year on May 31, at no extra cost to the village.
The position has been vacant since July 1.
Officials said at the board’s last meeting they will search for a full-time assessor for the new year.
