The Howland Public Library, thanks to a grant, will sponsor a Teen Asperger's Support and Social Group.

The grant came from the Ann and Abe Effron Fund of the Community Foundation of Dutchess County. The grant helps to provide resources at the library as well as for the group.

The group is run by Ginny Figlia, the youth services librarian; Ruth Romero-Nivel; and Nancy Osborn, a behavior specialist at the Anderson Center for Autism.

The support group features eight teens from the Beacon City School District. The students participate in activities designed to promote cooperation and social interaction. The group will be participating in summer activities.

The library is located at 313 Main St. in Beacon.
