The Long Island Rail Road’s 10:07 a.m. train from Ronkonkoma Tuesday, which left six minutes late, made it without incident to Hicksville, where the station’s parking lot was nearly filled to capacity but for the few spots taken up by unplowed snow.

While the lot was clear for pedestrians, work was needed on the crosswalk to the station, where a good amount of slush had accumulated.

More than a dozen bags of ice melt were observed on the station’s sidewalk, awaiting continued ice and snow removal and treatment.

The Hicksville platform was clear of ice and snow. It was quiet on the outside platforms, as many opted to stay in the warm waiting rooms before their trains arrived.

At noon, other than a minor delay on the Babylon Branch, the six operating branches of the LIRR were running on or close to the planned reduced service.
