To be or not to be? That was the question on students' minds at Syosset High School’s homecoming celebration on Saturday.
As one of the attractions during the carnival, students performed three Shakespeare plays in continuous rotation from 8 a.m. until 8 p.m.
After the plays finished, students also read sonnets, charging $1 a sonnet to attendees to raise funds for the school’s drama club.
“We’ve been doing this every year for 15 years,” said Gene Connor, director of the school’s theater program for the past 17 years. “The kids look forward to it every year.”
Other events during homecoming weekend included a walk-a-thon and a carnival.
“Homecoming is student-driven. They really get into it,” said Syosset High School assistant principal Ray Gessner.
