First the knee, then the ankle. Jalen Brunson injured both during the first half.

Brunson went to the locker room late in the first quarter after injuring his right knee but returned in the second half. Then, on a drive to the basket, Brunson was knocked to the floor and had his left ankle stepped on by former Knick Luke Kornet. The Knicks called a timeout, and Brunson stayed in the game.

He finished the first half with 11 points, shooting 5 of 15 from the floor. At one point he missed seven straight shots, but found his scoring touch late in the half.

Former St. John's guard Julian Champagnie led all scorers with 15 points, hitting five of his six three-point attempts.

Rookie Dylan Harper, the second overall pick in last year's draft, had 12 points and six rebounds.
