A community is trying to shut down an alleged 'swingers club.'

Avanti Nightclub on Post Avenue in Westbury is advertised as a Latin music club, but Mayor Peter Cavallaro says he recently found out the club was promoting 'swingers parties,' which is in violation of the zoning code.

Village leaders say Avanti didn't renew its permit last month and was shut down due to complaints of noise and fighting.

Avanti owners deny that the club is throwing swingers parties. They also say they installed soundproof doors to keep noise to a minimum.
