Ax foreign aid to balance federal budget

I read in Newsday seven days a week about wage freezes to federal employees and layoffs of teachers, police and firemen essential to our well-being. Now the payments of Medicare to doctors may be cut.

The list of cuts affecting the working class and retirees goes on and on. I have not read anything about cutting the billions of our taxpayers' monies that go to more than 20 foreign countries annually. Perhaps this is where our elected politicians should start to balance the budget.
