Babylon holds women's heart health seminar

The Town of Babylon is holding a seminar on heart health for women.

The seminar will be from 6:30  to 8 p.m. Monday in the auditorium of the Town Hall Annex on Phelps Lane in North Babylon.

The event, being held as part of February’s National Heart Health Month, will feature a health care professional who will talk about the particular risks faced by women.

Afterward there will be a question-and-answer session. Heart-related literature will be available, said a town spokesman.

The event is free. Light refreshments will be served.

According to the American Heart Association, heart disease is the No. 1 cause of death in women, causing one in three deaths each year.
