For Town of Babylon seniors, it’s time to dust off that baseball cap, wave that pennant and show some Bronx love.

Seniors will be able to celebrate the Yankees season opener in style Thursday at an Opening Day celebration held at the town’s Spangle Drive Senior Center in North Babylon.

The game, pitting the Yankees against the Detroit Tigers on the Bronx Bombers’ home turf, will be shown on a big screen, high-definition television. The celebration, scheduled to start at 12:30 p.m., will feature hot dogs, peanuts, pretzels and soda, said town spokesman Tim Ruggeri.

The event, sponsored by the Claude R. Boyd Caratozzolo Funeral Home in Deer Park, is open to all town residents 60 and older — even those rooting for the “other” team. The Spangle Drive Senior Center is located at 438 Spangle Dr. in North Babylon.
