Babylon sets public hearings
At Tuesday’s Town of Babylon board meeting, public hearings on the following matters were scheduled for March 22 at 3:30 p.m.:
*Amending the town code to transfer the Division of Fire Marshals to the Department of Parks, Recreation and Cultural Affairs.
*Amending town code to accept the transfer of the Division of Fire Marshals from the Department of Planning and Development.
*Amending town code to allow the “zoning inspector” to declare a structure, building or premises as unsafe, unlawful or unfit for human occupancy.
The town also accepted a bid of $149,000 from Chesterfield Associates, Inc., of Westhampton Beach, for boardwalk replacement at Venetian Shores Boat Launch Area.
