Babylon Town is hosting a Spring Cleanup and Stop Throwing Out Pollutants day on Saturday at the Residential Recycling Center, 57 Field St. in West Babylon.

The cleanup will be held, rain or shine, from 7:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. Residents can make an unlimited number of trips by cars or one trip with a pickup, van or trailer measuring 4 feet by 8 feet. Larger vehicles will not be permitted.

The center will accept items including furniture, appliances and wood products such as fencing and brush cut into 4-foot lengths.

The Stop Throwing Out Pollutants day, which encourages the safe disposal of household hazardous wastes, will be held from 9 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. Residents can drop off automotive fluids, cleaning products, fluorescent bulbs, household batteries, latex and oil paints and stains, and pool chemicals. The center will not accept ammunition, asbestos, construction and demolition debris, medical waste or tires. The town asks residents to label all materials submitted.

For more information, call the recycling center at 631-249-9347.
