The Baldwin Needs Revitalization Group will hold its first grassroots community meeting Saturday at 1 p.m. at Baldwin Public Library, 2385 Grand Ave.

Organizer David Viana said he created the Facebook group because vacant storefronts and a lack of businesses moving into the area were plaguing the community. He wants to create a new Baldwin Civic Association with help from community leaders and residents.

“In just two months, I have received just over 400 fans on my page,” “Many residents were eager to get together to start figuring out what we can do to help revitalize and beautify Baldwin back to the way it used to be many years ago,” Viana said.

President of the Baldwin Oaks Civic Association Jacqueline Bell, local Legis. Joseph Scannell and challenger Christian Browne are expected to be attend, Viana said.
