As their campaign drew to a close, Dan Farrell, looking to unseat Cheryl Felice as president of Suffolk's Association of Municipal Employees, claimed credit for union ballots sent to 95 seasonal workers at Suffolk County Community College.

But Felice denied that Farrell, now union treasurer, was at all responsible for securing membership cards from those workers, which ultimately allowed them to participate, based on a ruling by the union's elections committee.

Mail-in ballots, sent out March 20, are due to be returned by Tuesday and counted Wednesday. Felice is running for a fourth term.
