Copenhagen Bakery and Cafe had sold out of bread and was offering pies and cakes half off the day after Christmas.
Rick Makohon, 64, of Halesite, went to the bakery but found the shelves of bread bare.
He said he was not concerned about the snow while trying to get last minute items.
"I don't think it's a big deal. We had 4 to 8 inches last week and I do the same as always," Makohon said. "People are panicking and sometimes there's nothing on the shelves in the supermarket or the bakery, but it's just another day. I just have to shovel the driveway."
Isabella Messina, 18, of Hauppauge and Joe Donofrio, 18, of Northport, were walking the downtown before the snow before the we're stuck inside.
"I'm excited. I with it came a few days earlier for a nice white Christmas," Messina said.
