Pinch hitter Raul Ibañez hit a three-run double in the eighth inning yesterday to help the Los Angeles Angels defeat the host Washington Nationals, 4-2.
"After he got that hit, we were calling him 'Viejo' -- 'Old' in Spanish," Mike Trout, 22, said of the 41-year-old Ibañez.
Ibañez leads the Angels with 15 RBIs. "These guys make me feel young," he said. "And I have five kids at home. They're 12 and under, and I'm the biggest kid in the house, really. I feel right at home around these guys who are 22, 24, 25 years old. They definitely keep you young."
Phillies 7, Dodgers 0: Cliff Lee (3-2) gave up four hits in eight innings, struck out 10 and retired 21 of the last 22 for visiting Philadelphia. Carlos Ruiz hit a two-run homer and a two-run double and Ryan Howard also homered.

Cubs 5, Diamondbacks 1: Travis Wood hit a three-run homer, had four RBIs and gave up one run in seven innings with nine strikeouts for host Chicago.
Rockies 8, Giants 2: Charlie Blackmon hit two of host Colorado's five homers.
White Sox 3, Tigers 1: Jose Abreu and Dayan Viciedo hit RBI doubles in the seventh for visiting Chicago.
Indians 4, Royals 3: Jason Kipnis and Michael Brantley hit two-run homers for host Cleveland. Zach McAllister (3-0, 2.28 ERA) went six innings for the win.
Rangers 4, A's 3:Donnie Murphy's go-ahead single in the eighth lifted visiting Texas.
Astros 7, Mariners 2:Matt Dominguez homered and had three RBIs for visiting Houston, which beat Felix Hernandez (3-1) and handed Seattle its seventh straight loss.-- AP
