Prince Fielder hit his 30th home run, a two-run shot in the eighth inning, to give Detroit a 2-1 victory over the Minnesota Twins in Minneapolis Sunday, lifting the Tigers to a three-game lead over the White Sox in the AL Central.

With three games to go, Detroit can clinch the division title with a win in Kansas City tonight or a Chicago loss to Cleveland.

Miguel Cabrera, who is trying to become the first player since Carl Yastrzemski in 1967 to win the Triple Crown, went 0-for-3 with an intentional walk, dropping his AL-leading batting average to .325. Twins star Joe Mauer went 3-for-4 to raise his average to .323.

Rays 6, White Sox 2: David Price (20-5) became Tampa Bay's first 20-game winner and B.J. Upton hit his 27th and 28th homers as visiting Tampa Bay remained three games behind Oakland for the AL's second wild-card berth. Chicago is three games behind Detroit in the AL Central.

Angels, Rangers split. The two-time defending AL champion Texas Rangers are back in the playoffs after closer Joe Nathan ended a long day with his 37th save in an 8-7 win over the Los Angeles Angels in Arlington. Nathan blew a save in the first game of the day-night doubleheader in a 5-4 Angels win. One win in their season-ending three-game series at second-place Oakland will give the Rangers the AL West title. The A's have a three-game lead on both the Angels and Rays for an AL wild-card berth.

Athletics 5, Mariners 2: Yoenis Cespedes' 23rd home run broke a 2-2 tie in the eighth as host Oakland completed a three-game sweep.

Cardinals 10, Nationals 4: Carlos Beltran (32 homers, 97 RBIs) homered from both sides of the plate for Lance Lynn (18-7) as host St. Louis reduced its magic number to two for clinching the NL's second wild card. Washington's magic number for clinching the NL East remains at one.

Dodgers 7, Rockies 1: Josh Beckett earned his first victory in five starts and host Los Angeles backed him with three homers as the Dodgers remained two games behind St. Louis for the second NL wild card. -- AP
