Alex Rios hit a walk-off two-run homer in the ninth inning after Paul Konerko homered as host Chicago scored three in the bottom of the ninth to beat Seattle, 5-4, Saturday. In the top of the inning, Casey Kotchman hit a two-run ground-rule double to give the Mariners a two-run lead. Kotchman's drive to right was touched by a fan and umpire Gary Cederstrom declared the play dead after a run scored, but the umpiring crew overruled the call and allowed pinch runner Jack Wilson to score from first. White Sox manager Ozzie Guillen was ejected after questioning the call and was in the clubhouse when his team rallied.

"I'm not going to get in trouble [by managing once ejected]. I was watching a soap opera from Telemundo," Guillen said. "I think I found the trick. I think they play better without Ozzie managing."

Red Sox 7, Orioles 6

Marco Scutaro and Kevin Youkilis each hit a three-run homer as host Boston scored six times in the seventh inning. The Orioles fell to 2-16, losing their fifth straight despite a season-high 17 hits.

Tigers 8, Rangers 4

Johnny Damon drove in two runs and scored twice, helping visiting Detroit overcome a four-run deficit.

Twins 9, Royals 7

Reigning AL MVP Joe Mauer matched a career high with five hits and Denard Span singled home the go-ahead run in the 12th inning for visiting Minnesota. Justin Morneau hit a tying two-run homer in the seventh.

Rays 9, Blue Jays 3

Jason Bartlett and Ben Zobrist drove in two runs each during a seven-run eighth inning and John Jaso hit his first major-league homer for host Tampa Bay.

Indians 6, Athletics 1

Mark Grudzielanek hit a tiebreaking RBI single with two outs in the eighth inning for visiting Cleveland to back starter Fausto Carmona (3-0).

Phillies 3, D-Backs 2

Jayson Werth hit two solo homers, including a tiebreaking shot in the ninth inning, and Raul Ibañez also connected to lead visiting Philadelphia. Ryan Madson got three outs for his fourth save.

Giants 2, Cardinals 0

Barry Zito struck out 10 in eight crisp innings and Andres Torres singled home the go-ahead run in the eighth for host San Francisco.

Cubs 5, Brewers 1

Ted Lilly threw six shutout innings in his season debut and Carlos Zambrano made his first appearance out of the bullpen in almost eight years for visiting Chicago. Zambrano gave up a run in 11/3 innings and had a sac fly in a three-run eighth.

Dodgers 4, Nationals 3

Russell Martin lined a two-out RBI single off Miguel Batista in the 13th inning and Casey Blake threw out the potential tying run at home in the bottom half of the inning after homering twice for visiting Los Angeles.

Padres 5, Reds 0

Adrian Gonzalez homered for the second straight day and Wade LeBlanc pitched three-hit ball for six innings as visiting San Diego won their eighth straight.

Marlins, Rockies split

Ricky Nolasco went eight innings and Dan Uggla and Brett Carroll each homered, leading visiting Florida past Colorado, 4-1, in Game 1. In Game 2, Aaron Cook threw a five-hitter in an 8-1 win for the Rockies.

Astros 5, Pirates 2

Wandy Rodriguez struck out seven in 7 1/3 innings to earn his first win of the season for host Houston. Pittsburgh's Chris Jakubauskas, just called up Friday for this start, was hit behind the right ear by Lance Berkman's line drive. He was conscious when carted off the field and stayed in a hospital overnight for observation.
