Bay Shore's Jessica Gelibert won the junior 600 meters in a Suffolk-record time of 1 minute, 32.99 seconds at the New Balance Collegiate Invitational at the Armory Saturday.

Gelibert bested the previous mark of 1:33.68 set by Ward Melville's Michelle Seibert in 2006.

The junior sprinter also set the Suffolk 400-meter indoor record earlier this season.

Long Island was also represented in the relays at the New Balance Invitational as the North Shore girls 4 x 800 relay team of Elizabeth Caldwell, Jessica Donohue, Samantha Nadel and Brianna Nerud won in a Nassau record time of 9:04.99.

The previous Nassau record was set by Garden City (9:10.67) in 2010. North Shore's 4 x 800 time is also the fastest in the country this season.

BOYS TRACK

LIers run well in Boston. Kellenberg's team of Tyler Capozzoli, Raul McGee, Randall Turner and Dylan Murphy, representing the Giants, won the 3,200-meter relay at the New England Challenge (7:55.67) at the New Balance Indoor Grand Prix at Reggie Lewis Center in Boston.

Chaminade's Thomas Awad came in fourth place in the high school mile in a school-record time of 4:14.85 at the meet.

BOYS BASKETBALL

St. Anthony's 69, St. John's Prep 58: Jahwon Gordon had 22 points, two assists and five steals for St. Anthony's (9-10) in non-league. Leland Williams added 13 points, five rebounds and four steals.

Carey 74, Westbury 51: Sophomore Adrian Denner had 21 of his career-high 27 points in the second half and also had nine rebounds, and senior Andrew Gentile had a career-high 19 points for Carey (4-8) in Conference AA-III.

Long Island Lutheran 89, Martin Van Buren 37: Senior Zack Goodman scored a career-high 17 points for Lutheran (15-4) in non-league. Kentan Facey had 12 points and a game-high 10 rebounds and Chris Atkinson had five steals and five points in a 33-5 first quarter, and also had six assists.

Centereach 55, Newfield 44: Senior Ryan Herman had a career-high 18 points, with nine rebounds for Centereach (2-8) in League III. Dan Nappi had 13 rebounds and seven assists to go with his three points and Dylan Valot added 14 points off the bench.

Bayport-Blue Point 60, East Hampton 35: Steve Longo had all 11 of his points during a 21-1 third quarter as Bayport-Blue Point (5-5) overcame a 29-22 halftime deficit in a League VI game Friday night. Alp Akdeniz had a team-high 12 points and Lucas Jenks five points and 15 rebounds in the win.

Hampton Bays 79, Center Moriches 76: Luke Mercurio had 18 points, including a pair of free throws with 10 seconds left to give Hampton Bays a 79-74 lead, and added 15 rebounds to lead Hampton Bays (7-3) in League VII on Friday night. Justin Carbone had 17 points and Perry Friscia had 16 points for the Baymen.

Bridgehampton 84, Greenport 54: Junior Jason Hopson had a career-high 30 points, plus eight rebounds and seven assists to lead Bridgehampton (5-5) in League VIII on Friday night.

GIRLS BASKETBALL

North Shore 69, Roosevelt 39: Amanda Johansen had 21 points, 11 rebounds and seven assists for North Shore (10-0) in Conference A-IV. All 15 players scored for North Shore, which clinched the Conference title.

Sachem East 71, Sachem North 40: Meagan Doherty had 21 points and three assists for East (11-0) in Suffolk League I. Kathleen Everson had 14 points and four rebounds.

Westbury 41, Clarke 27: Sophomore Renee Watson had her first career double-double, 10 points and 20 rebounds, to lead Westbury (3-10) in non-league. Danielle Ramsey added eight points, 12 rebounds and four steals.

Portledge 44, St. Dominic 40: Tamara Simpson had 20 points, 15 rebounds, 13 steals, nine blocks and eight assists for Portledge (16-1) in non-league.

Hewlett 64, Lawrence 58: Sam DiSalvo scored 20 of her 31 points in the fourth quarter and also had nine rebounds and eight assists for Hewlett (2-6) in Conference A-II.

South Side 36, New Hyde Park 34: Maggie McGown hit a layup with 14 seconds left to give South Side a 36-33 lead in Conference A-I. Bridget Kiernan had 11 points and 10 rebounds for the Cyclones.
