The Bayville Historical Museum will host a memorial celebration June 11 for a longtime village historian who died earlier this year at age 91.

Gladys Mack served as Bayville historian from 1970 to 2000, and helped found the museum, for which she was also the curator. Even after falling ill and moving to Maine, Mack continued work on a book about the history of Bayville, family said.

Her daughter now hopes to finish it.

The memorial celebration will feature remembrances from Mack’s family and the dedication of a pink dogwood tree in her memory. It is scheduled to begin at 2 p.m. at the Bayville Historical Musuem, 34 School St.
