Beauty spot: Makeovers
For the new year, a fresh look at some familiar products:
Since 1968, Clinique's Clarifying Lotion has been the "difference maker" in the brand's three-step regimen. Now it's been reformulated, with ingredients (including hyaluronic acid and glycerin) said to make exfoliation "more comfortable." Available for four skin types, from very dry to oily, $12.50 and $21, at makeup counters or clinique.com.
The latest from Chanel's Sublimage line is Essential Revitalizing Concentrate, which has been infused with an ingredient derived from the golden flower of the Himalayas and used in both Eastern and traditional medicine. As a skin-care ingredient, it's said to help free skin of toxins while restoring energy and balance; $425, at makeup counters or chanel.com.
Estée Lauder supposedly spared no expense when she created Re-Nutriv in 1956. The line's new Ultimate Lift Age-Correcting collection is made up of face and eye cream, plus a serum. All contain a formula rich in sea plant extracts along with Brazilian black tourmaline, known for properties thought to aid the lifting effect; $100-$250 at makeup counters and esteelauder.com.
