Ben & Jerry's Free Cone Day on Long Island

It's a good day for ice cream lovers: Today is Ben & Jerry's Free Cone Day at select stores around the country.
The Burlington, Vermont-based company is scooping up free cones to customers from noon to 8 p.m. Tuesday. Single-scoop cones will be given out in Huntington Village (298 Main St.) and at Main Street Sweets in Westhampton Beach (121 Main St.).
While flavor choices may vary by location, the ice cream company is known for unique flavors including Phish Food, Chunky Monkey and Cherry Garcia. The first free cone day started in 1979. The company expects to hand out more than a million free scoops during this one-day event.
