Big Shot kicks off library concert series
The Rolling Stones, Billy Joel, the Eagles and Rod Stewart are part of this year’s Smithtown Library summer concert series.
Of course, the artists themselves won’t be there. But bands covering their tunes are on the concert schedule that start Thursday night at the Branch Shopping Plaza on East Main Street in the Village of the Branch.
The series opened with the Billy Joel tribute band Big Shot. All shows are scheduled for 8 p.m. in the shopping center parking lot.
The schedule for the rest of the summer:
July 14: Beginnings, playing music by Chicago.
July 21: Dr. K’s Motown Revue.
July 28: Rick Larrimore, singing hits by Rod Stewart.
Aug. 4: Oldies tunes by Risky Business.
Aug. 11: Eagles tribute band Desert Highway.
Aug. 18: Rolling Stones tribute band Streetfighter
Aug. 25: Beatles tribute band Strawberry Fields.
The series is named for Dennis Cannataro
