1. BAY SHORE SOFTBALL Bay Shore comes into 2010 looking for its 24th League Championship in the last 28 years and trying to keep its streak of 19 consecutive 20-win seasons and 27-straight playoff berths going. Taylor McGowan (League II pitcher of the year) and Liz Weber are two of the top pitchers in the county. Cat Franzone, who led the team in batting average (.407) and RBI's (25), should headline.

2. ST. ANTHONY'S BOYS LACROSSE St. Anthony's is 2-0 and ranked No. 4 in the nation in Inside Lacrosse's preseason poll, the Friars beat Westchester power Somers, 10-7, on Saturday. Princeton-bound Tom Schreiber scored three goals.

3. FARMINGDALE GIRLS LACROSSE The Dalers won their first state championship last season and finished the year ranked No. 1 in the country. 7. ST. ANTHONY'S BOYS TRACK St. Anthony's is loaded with talented athletes in nearly every event, led by newcomer Patrick Farmer and senior distance specialists Kenneth Walshak and Patrick Murphy. St. Anthony's should emerge as the team to beat this spring.

8. WEST BABYLON GIRLS LACROSSE Led by Alyssa Murray, who has 13 goals and 17 assists through three games, the Eagles are 3-0 and the favorites in Suffolk Division I. They defeated Nassau powers Massapequa, 15-2, and Wantagh, 14-10.

10. CONNETQUOT BASEBALL Three All-County outfielders in Kenny [Big Red] Jackson, team-MVP Jimmy Guiliano, and Joe Russo lead the experienced T-Birds in a season that legendary coach Bob Ambrosini wins his 500th career game.
