Big TV ratings for Packers-Giants
Sunday's Packers-Giants thriller on Fox averaged 21.8 percent of homes in the New York area, Fox's best such figure in the market since a Giants-Jets game in 1996 drew a 22.4 rating.
Nationally, Fox's late-afternoon window -- which featured the Giants game in 77 percent of the nation -- averaged 18.5 percent of homes in major markets, the third-best such figure this season. In Milwaukee, 53.2 percent watched, Fox's best rating in that market in 14 years.
Chargers rout Jaguars
Philip Rivers threw for 294 yards and three touchdowns as the Chargers (5-7) beat the host Jaguars, 38-14, Monday night to snap a six-game losing streak. Jacksonville is 3-9.

Bears coach Lovie Smith said he expects running back Matt Forte to return this season from a sprained medial collateral ligament in his right knee . . . Packers tight end Andrew Quarless, who played at Holy Trinity and Uniondale, is out for the season with what coach Mike McCarthy called a "significant" right knee injury.
