Birds, onlookers enjoy Bellport Bay

Sunday morning’s single-digit temperatures weren’t enough to keep the birds from enjoying Bellport Bay.

The frigid temperatures did keep most onlookers at the Bellport Bay Yacht Club in the warmth of their vehicles to watch the sun rising above the bay and the birds frolicking on the water.

According to the National Weather Service, the temperature is expected to drop to 1 degree Sunday night in Bellport with winds between 13 and 20 mph. Temperatures for Monday are expected to reach 16 degrees.
