Blakeman declares State of Emergency in Nassau

Nassau County Executive Bruce Blakeman declared a State of Emergency for Nassau County Friday evening.
Blakeman cited a "change in forecast," which he said could now bring more than 10 inches of snow to parts of Nassau.
Blakeman said the declaration "will enhance our ability to get the county back to normal as quickly as possible."
The Long Island Expressway remained open Saturday evening and Nassau police reported no major closures. Suffolk police reported officers were responding to more than 40 crashes countywide.
