Nassau County Executive Bruce Blakeman told reporters that while he supports lifting congesting pricing for frustrated commuters during the LIRR strike, he is not considering suspending local taxes on gasoline during the strike.
"I don't think it makes much sense for me to do it. And then Suffolk County — we have to consult with them," Blakeman said. "So I would take a regional and state approach to that. I'm open to that. I'm open to capping the gas tax. But I think it needs to be a statewide approach."
