A panel of business and legal experts will discuss  how to finance a technology-based start-up on July 25  at Brookhaven National Laboratory.

The panel will address questions on how to make a technology-based business attractive to investors, a lab spokeswoman said, and will take questions from the audience.

Panelists will include Jim Chinitz, chief executive officer of Melville-based Population Diagnostics Inc.; Murat Ozsu, chief executive of Southampton-based hotel management website innRoad.com, and patent attorney Steve Winick of Roslyn Heights.

Walter G. Copan, manager of Brookhaven National Laboratory’s office of technology commercialization and partnerships, will moderate. The event is scheduled for 5 to 7:30 p.m. at the lab in Upton.
