The Eatons Neck Coast Guard Station will kick off National Safe Boating Week on Saturday with an open house.

The event, which runs from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m., will feature activities such as demonstrations of emergency boating equipment and paddle craft, knot tying, radio protocol and tours of Coast Guard vessels, the historic lighthouse, the communication room and the new boathouse.

Boat owners can receive a complimentary vessel safety equipment exam from the Coast Guard Auxiliary.

The Auxiliary will also hold a four-hour paddleboat safety class starting at 1 p.m. The fee is $20 and pre-registration is recommended.

Musical entertainment will be provided at 1 p.m. and 3 p.m. by the Coast Guard Auxiliary Flotilla 2207 Concert Band, weather permitting.
