Bodybuilder Larry Dee Scott, 1st Mr. Olympia, dead at 75

SALT LAKE CITY -- Larry Dee Scott, a trailblazing bodybuilder who was the first-ever Mr. Olympia, a top international competition, has died at the age of 75.
The Lindquist Mortuary in Bountiful, Utah, says Scott died on March 8. The website for his nutrition supplement company said he died of complications from Alzheimer's disease.
His obituary said Scott was born in Idaho and moved to California in 1959 after winning the Mr. Idaho bodybuilding contest.
During the 1960s, he became one of the world's top bodybuilders. He won Mr. Universe in 1963-1964 and Mr. Olympia in 1965-1966. Mr. Olympia is considered the most important bodybuilding competition in the world.
He is survived by his wife, Rachel, and their five children.
Funeral services are set for Saturday in Bountiful. -- AP
