Brandon Kaplan, Suffolk County Scholar Artist for October

Brandon Kaplan has performed in over twenty dramatic and musical productions throughout his time at Half Hollow Hills High School East.

His achievements include winning Outstanding Actor in a Leading Role for his performance of “Demetrius” in A Midsummer Night’s Dream and serving as President of his school’s chapter of the International Thespian Honor Society. Excelling as a member of the school’s chorus, Brandon has been selected to perform with the NYSSMA All-State and Nassau Music Educators Association’s All-County Mixed Choirs. 

Brandon is a member of the National Honor Society, an AP Scholar Award winner for Academic Excellence, and has received commendations from the National Merit Scholar Corporation. In his free time, Brandon serves in the High School East Peer Ambassadors, a select group of students who attend workshops and train to help other students cope with self-esteem issues and bullying. When Brandon isn’t involved with the theatre department, he’s composing music with his band, The Universe and Shiny Things, or working on a musical production he is writing. Brandon plans to pursue an education in Film and Television in college.  He will also continue to act, write and play music.
