Eastport-South Manor was a point away from losing both the first and second games of the Suffolk Division II boys volleyball title match Saturday, but the chemistry between outside hitter Connor Brandow and setter Thomas Jordan allowed the Sharks to perservere, and led them to their third consecutive county championship.

ESM, the top seed, beat No. 3 East Hampton, 26-24, 28-26, 25-14.

"There's never a time where [Brandow] has let this team down. When we needed to win those first two games, [Brandow] was the guy that got us out of it," ESM coach Bruce Stiriz said. "I'm very proud of the way [Jordan] played and his offensive selection. The two of them have been a great connection."

Brandow had 23 kills, Jordan had 44 assists and nine digs and libero Corey Vogt added 17 digs.

ESM will play for its third straight bid to the state championships against the Nassau class B champion Tuesday at Westhampton Middle School.
