Brandy, Ryan Press end engagement, 'no longer together'

Singer-actressBrandy and music executive Ryan Press have ended their 14-month engagement, Newsday contributor Frank Lovece reports. Her representative said yesterday in a statement that the two "are no longer together. The engagement is off, but the friendship is still on." The rep added that the couple "decided to take a step back and re-evaluate the relationship. Brandy is 35 now -- that's what her whole #35 on Twitter is about, becoming her own woman." This would have been her first marriage, though she and music producer Robert Smith, the father of their 11-year-old daughter, Sy'rai, had pretended to be married for two years after learning Brandy was pregnant, the Grammy winner said in 2008.
