Adelphi University is planning a free forum in November for breast cancer survivors about the latest nutritional information to help them stay healthy.

There is no fee to participate in the Nov. 1 forum, but pre-registration is required.

A panel of three experts will discuss current recommendations for weight management and maintaining muscle, as well as bone health during and after breast cancer treatment. They will also explore foods and nutrients that have received attention in the media.
Participants will be offered information on how to promote overall good health and control weight, interpret food labels and plan meals.

The event is sponsored by the Adelphi NY Statewide Breast Cancer Hotline and Support Program and is supported by grants from The Beth C. Tortolani Foundation and Meghan’s Pansies Breast Cancer Fund.

The event is scheduled for 7 to 8:30 p.m. Nov. 1 at Alumni House, 154 Cambridge Ave. in Garden City.
