Brewers' Jean Segura hit in head with bat
Brewers shortstop Jean Segura left last night's game against the Cubs in Milwaukee after the top of the first inning after being hit on the right side of the face by a warmup swing by teammate Ryan Braun.
Manager Ron Roenicke said Segura doesn't have a concussion or fractures but suffered a significant laceration under his right eye.
"He was laid open pretty good,'' he told the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel. "A plastic surgeon stitched him up, and we'll just see. He'll have some swelling tomorrow, and then we'll just see how quickly it goes down and how many days it's going to be.''
"Obviously, it's never something that's done intentionally," Braun said. "Thank God from everything we've heard he's OK."-- AP
