Briefs: Brad Keselowski wins first Sprint Cup title
Keselowski takes title
Brad Keselowski has won his first NASCAR championship. The Detroit native clinched the Sprint Cup title Sunday at the Ford EcoBoost 400 at Homestead-Miami (Fla.) Speedway, when fellow title contender Jimmie Johnson pulled out of the season finale because of a parts failure. The championship is the first for longtime NASCAR owner Roger Penske. Jeff Gordon won the race, but all Keselowski, 28, had to do was stay out of trouble over the final 60 miles. He finished 15th.
D'Antoni delays return
Mike D'Antoni did not make his coaching debut with the Lakers Sunday night in host Los Angeles' 119-108 win over Houston because he is not fully recovered from recent knee replacement surgery. Dwight Howard had 28 points and 13 rebounds in the win . . . Kevin Durant had 25 points, 13 rebounds and 10 assists to lead host Oklahoma City over Golden State, 119-109 . . . Greg Monroe had 20 points as host Detroit crushed Boston, 103-83.

Czechs wrest Davis Cup from Spain
The host Czech Republic won the Davis Cup for the first time as an independent nation, beating 2011 champ Spain, 3-2, in Prague after Radek Stepanek upset Nicolas Almagro in reverse singles. -- AP
Talks to resume
After a seven-day hiatus, the NHLPA and the NHL will return to the bargaining table Monday in New York in a group including top negotiators, some owners and players. The lockout is in its third month. GOLF
Choi victorious in final LPGA event
U.S. Women's Open champion Na Yeon Choi won the LPGA Titleholders event in Naples, Fla., by two shots with a final-round 2-under-par 70 and a four-round total of 274 . . . Tommy Gainey shot 3-under 69 for a 277 total and a one-stroke victory at the Pebble Beach (Calif.) Invitational . . . Miguel Angel Jimenez, 48 years and 318 days, became the oldest European Tour winner by shooting 5-under 65 for a 265 total to capture his third Hong Kong Open title and 19th tour title.

Kelsie Wills had a team-high 18 kills, Catalina Charry 29 assists and 14 digs and Kylee Maneja a team-high 17 digs to lead the fourth-seeded Hofstra women's volleyball team to a five-set victory over No. 2 Delaware in the CAA championship.-- AP
