Martin had broken wrist

Kevin Martin's 37-point effort against the Knicks on Wednesday just got even more impressive. He played most of the game with a fractured wrist on his shooting hand and is out indefinitely. After injuring the wrist with 6:48 left in the first quarter, Martin scored 34 points and shot 6-for-9 from three-point range in the Timberwolves' 115-99 win.

Isaiah Thomas scored 23 points to lead the visiting Suns past the 76ers, 122-96. The 76ers, who play the Knicks tonight, have lost their first 12 games . . . Evan Fournier scored 21 points and Tobias Harris (Half Hollow Hills West) had 17 points and 16 rebounds for the visiting Magic, who erased a 23-point second-half deficit to beat the Hornets, 105-100 . . . John Wall's 28 points, seven assists and six rebounds led the host Wizards past the Cavaliers, 91-78. LeBron James scored 22 for the Cavs, who were held without a field goal in the final 9:16.GOLF

Wie in contention

Carlota Ciganda of Spain had a 5-under 67 in the CME Globe Tour Championship in Naples, Florida, to share the lead with Julieta Granada of Paraguay, who shot 70. They were a stroke ahead of Morgan Pressel, who birdied all the par 5s in her round of 66. Michelle Wie had a 67 and emerged as a possibility to win the Race to CME Globe and collect the $1-million bonus. Wie is two shots off the lead and in prime position to capture the biggest payoff in women's golf.

Stenson leads by 2

Henrik Stenson birdied two of his final three holes for a 66 and a two-shot lead over Rory McIlroy and two others in the second round of the World Tour Championship in Dubai.
