Brookhaven employees to tidy up town
Brooms and hammers in hand, Brookhaven Town employees will take to the streets starting Monday in Operation Clean Sweep to beautify neighborhoods.
The program, headed by the town’s Quality of Life Task Force, will focus on Pamela Lane Park in Selden as its first project. All week, town highway department employees will sweep streets, fix streetlights, pick up litter and install street signs.
Each of the town’s six council districts will host an Operation Clean Sweep in the coming months, the town said.
