It’s 3:17 a.m. — do you have the urge to pay your town taxes?

If the answer is yes and you live in Brookhaven, you’re in luck. Residents there can now pay their property taxes at any time through a new online service.

The website will accept credit card payments from Visa, Mastercard, Discover and American Express, as well as checking account payments, according to town receiver of taxes Louis Marcoccia.

While there’s no charge to look at your account and print out a statement, there will be fees if you pay online.

For credit card payments, the fee is 2.75 percent of your tax payment or $5, whichever is greater. For online check payments under $8,000 a $1.50 fee is levied, and $8 for payments above $8,000.

For more information, go to the Town of Brookhaven website.
