Daniele Buoncore returned to action for Kings Park, which defeated Sayville, 49-30, in League V. She had six points and 13 rebounds, playing limited minutes in her first action since injuring her elbow during Kings Park's Jan. 20 game with Eastport-South Manor.

Kings Park coach Tom Edmundson was concerned about the severity of the injury to his junior forward but after two doctor's visits he said Buoncore did not have a tear.

"We weren't sure at first what it was going to be," Edmundson said. "They said it was tendonitis - inflammation, no tear."

Kings Park (8-1) hosts Miller Place (4-4) at 5:45 p.m. Friday is expected to start.

"The way she played today she'll be starting tomorrow," Edmundson said.
