We've seen enough "Masterpiece Theatre" to know that when the Brits say "guvnah" they don't mean Gov. Andrew Cuomo, or any elected official. So "One Man, Two Guvnors," the first National Theatre Live show from London for the fall season, has nothing to do with politics.

You can catch the smash musical comedy directed by Sir Nicholas Hytner ("The Madness of King George") by delayed satellite broadcast at Huntington's Cinema Arts Centre Friday night and at Guild Hall's John Drew Theater, East Hampton, Saturday night.

"It's the closest thing to actually being there," says Dylan Skolnick, Cinema Arts' programming director. "A large chunk of our audience is interested in film from all over the world. So why not theater?"

At the John Drew, National Theatre Live, along with Metropolitan Opera Live in HD, plus Naked Stage readings, "are the focus of our fall and winter seasons," says Guild Hall spokeswoman Barbara Jo Howard.

Cinema Arts picked up the National during its inaugural satellite season in 2009. Among the sellouts in the 274-seat Cinema I were Helen Mirren in "Phédre," Derek Jacobi as "Hamlet" and the National's production of the Broadway musical "Féla!" Guild Hall's first broadcast from London was "King Lear" in March.

BRITAIN VIA ITALY What is it about the British and cross-gender mistaken identity? That's the premise of most Shakespeare comedies. Richard Bean adapted "Two Guvnors" from the classic Italian comedy "The Servant of Two Masters." It's the story of Francis, recently fired from a skiffle band. He's hired as a minder by Roscoe, a shady character who has moved to Brighton to collect 6,000 pounds from his fiancee's dad. But guvnor No. 1 is really Roscoe's sister Rachel disguised as her brother, murdered by Rachel's boyfriend Stanley. Got that? Francis, always looking for another meal ticket, takes a similar job with Stanley, guvnor No. 2, who's on the lam. He's keen on reuniting with Rachel, but Francis must keep them apart to protect his dual income.
