Cabaret club's appeal hearing rescheduled

A cabaret club’s court case against the Hempstead Town Appeals Board was adjourned until July 17 yesterday at Nassau County Supreme Court.
Owners Billy Dean and Rori Gordon want Judge Antonio Brandveen to grant them a license to operate a proposed Wantagh nightclub and restaurant. Brandveen ruled against the owners in May, but Dean and Gordon have asked him to reverse.
The case was scheduled for a potential rehearing yesterday in Supreme Court in Mineola, but both sides consented to an adjournment until next week, court officials said.
The Hempstead board denied Dean and Gordon’s application in August after residents charged that the nightclub would harm the area’s character and worsen traffic problems. The license would allow the club to offer “Las Vegas Style” entertainment, but not topless dancing.
